Name Essay

To me, my name is worth a lot. It represents what other people think about me and how I treat other people, and includes my morals. I am not quite sure exactly what others think of me, but I have certain morals that I will not give up no matter what.
I believe in respecting women to a high degree, for I have been raised with 5 sisters and no brothers and have been taught from an early age never to disrespect women. I believe in being kind to others. I believe that more than mildly harming ANYONE except in self defense or in defense of another is wrong. I believe in respecting authorities, in most cases. I believe in respecting parents. I believe in respecting elders.
It makes me happy when I see acts of kindness or service being performed. Angers wells up inside of me when I see any disrespect to women, and when I see abuse to women or children I get angry almost to the point of violence.
Of course I can't know for sure, but I believe my friends emotionally rely on me. They trust me. I believe many members of look up to me, even those who are older, not to be prideful. They have told me this in the past.
I am known at school as an odd and slightly tall person, who happens to be quiet. I am most definitely known to some as a nerd, which is their problem.

The Crucible Cast List

Reverend Samuel Parris: Anthony Hopkins

I chose Anthony Hopkins for the part of Reverend Samuel Parris because he is well known as an intelligent actor. He has experience playing multiple types of roles. Since he has so much experience in all kinds of roles, I believe that he could play an intelligent and religious father as if it was completely natural.

Tituba: Zoe Saldana

I chose Zoe Saldana for the part of Tituba because she has a strong look about her. She plays a person who is persecuted and driven from her home in the movie "Avatar". Because of this reason, I believe that she would act well as a slave.

Abigail "Abby" Williams: Taylor Swift

I chose Taylor Swift for the Part of Abigail Williams because she is known for being beautiful. She also has a seductive look. I believe she could play and mischievious and conniving role.

Thomas Putnam: Orlando Bloom

I chose Orlando Bloom for the part of Thomas Putnam because he has a mysterious and secretive look and he has played serious roles in the past. I believe that with a little stage make up to make him look older, he could play a wealthy landowner. I also believe he would be good at playing a man who connives and takes pieces of others' land.

Goody Ann Putnam: Susan Sarandon

I chose Susan Sarandon for the part of Goody Ann Putnam because of her slight aged yet stern look. She  could easily play a mother who has lost most of her children. She looks like she has been through a lot in her life. She looks like someone who could be snappy.

John Proctor: Christian Bale

I chose Christian Bale for the part of John Proctor because he is muscular, as a farmer would be. He is of the correct age to be John Proctor. I believe he would also do well to play as a man trying to cover up a secret, considering the fact he plays Batman in "Batman Begins" and "The Dark Knight".

Goody Elizabeth Proctor: Jennifer Aniston

I chose Jennifer Aniston for the part of Elizabeth Proctor because I believe she could play the part of a wife well. I believe she would be good and acting as a person who holds a grudge. I also believe she would do well as someone who is grumpy towards her husband.

Mary Warren: Kristen Stewart

I chose Kristen Stewart for the part of Mary Warren because in "Twilight" she plays a girl who is soft spoken and shy. I believe that she would do well playing a girl who is soft spoken and overly outspoken with a little peer pressure. I believe she would also be good at playing a girl who wants to admit that she did something wrong.

Goody Rebecca Nurse: Betty White

I chose Betty White for the part of Rebecca Nurse because she has the look of a grandmother. She can be serious and grumpy as an actor, although in real life she has good humor. She has done some charitable things over her long acting career.

Reverend John Hale: David Hyde Pierce

I chose David Hyde Pierce for the part of John Hale because he appears serious and business like. He looks like a man of logic. He grew up as a Christian.

Crucible Anticipation Essay

Some people would say that accountability doesn't apply to a person who is forced, tortured, etc. This is not true. It may be difficult to choose, but choice is always available. It is your choice that determines who you are. A person is always accountable for the choices he/she makes, because when forced, a person could resist force, when blackmailed, a person could ignore the blackmail, and when threatened, a person could ignore the threats and continue to go against the assertiveness of others.
In the case that someone uses the excuse that their choices were caused by the process of forcing into submission, which could and has been used multiple times in the past, the excuse is invalid. You could be forced to do something, but you can resist that force. If any excuse could be made with any validity whatsoever, it would be that they resisted the forcefulness to the best of their ability, therefor making their choice being not to do what they were forced to do. They are responsible for all of their choices, not the choices of others. If they make their choice to give in, then they are responsible for that choice as well.
With some, the excuse may be blackmail. If this happens then the person had an obligation to report this crime to local officials. If this was a limited option, then they could just ignore it. They could even blackmail back. They could make the blackmail impossible to follow through with. It is all a choice.
In rare cases, threats may be involved. Threats can be ignored. Threats can be reversed on those who are threatening. Most threats are illegal. Those who threaten could be turned in to the authorities. Those who threaten can also be threatened back. Again, there is a choice.
In all cases, there is always some sort of freedom of choice. A person is always responsible for the choices they make, because force can be fought with force in different ways, and threats and blackmail can be resisted in different ways as well. These cannot be used as valid excuses.
